The Lung Consultants was started to provide state of the art, evidence based care for pulmonary, critical care and sleep needs in the community. We have experienced providers who work together with your primary care physician and other consultants to assure optimal and personalized care based on individual need. Our physicians specialize in evaluation and treatment of various pulmonary disorders such as asthma, COPD, Cough, shortness of breath, lung nodules and lung cancer, interstitial lung disease, bronchiectasis etc. We have physicians who are expert in performing bronchoscopy with interventional procedures such as endobronchial ultrasound for biopsy of lymph nodes in center of the chest, assist in staging of lung cancer. They are also expert in biopsy of peripheral lung nodules using lung navigation therapy, placement of markers in lung for radiation therapy for lung cancer. Our physicians are also well experienced in treating sleep related problems such as obstructive sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy, restless leg syndrome, Parasomnia, REM sleep behavior disorder etc.

Dr. Harpreet Suri

Dr. Suri completed training in Pulmonary/Critical care medicine at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota. He moved to Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) area in 2011 and has been an integral part of Dallas-Fort Worth community since then. He founded “The Lung Consultants” in 2018, with vision to establish state of the art practice to provide comprehensive pulmonary and sleep care in DFW area. Dr Suri has special interest in lung cancer and thoracic oncology. He also completed additional training in navigational lung biopsy and Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS) from Mayo Clinic during fellowship. He was the first physician who brought these minimally invasive procedures for lung biopsy and lymph node biopsy to Fort Worth area. He has been performing these advanced bronchoscopy procedures in DFW area for last 10 years. He has performed more than 1000 lung navigation biopsies, and several thousands of endobronchial ultrasound for lymph node biopsies, both most in DFW area. He also serves as an instructor for these procedures.

Dr. Naishadh Brahmbhatt

Dr. Brahmbhatt is board certified in Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine. He completed his residency training from “Texas Tech University and Health Science Center”. His fellowship training in Pulmonary Medicine was from “Southern Illinois University” in 2009 and then completed Sleep Medicine and Critical Care Medicine fellowship at “University of Pittsburgh Medical center”, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 2011. During fellowship he worked as a simulation preceptor for various pulmonary and critical care procedures for resident and junior fellows.

After completion of fellowship he provided care in pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine as part of multispecialty group outside Chicago, Illinois. He has special interest in telemedicine and has been working with Veterans Administration TeleICU program since 2012. During his tenure in Illinois Dr. Brahmbhatt served as a medical director of sleep lab at two different facilities. He moved to Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) area in 2016 and has been practicing Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine in Midcities in DFW area before joining “The Lung Consultants” in January 2020. His vision is to provide state of the art comprehensive care in Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine.

He has been utilizing home sleep studies for evaluation of sleep apnea. His other interest are evaluation and treatment of various sleep related disorders such as Insomnia, Narcolepsy, Restless leg syndrome, REM behavior disorders, parasomnias etc.

Gene Veley, M.D., FCCP

Gene Veley, MD, FCCP, is a caring and dedicated physician bringing over 15 years of clinical experience to medical practice in the state of Texas. An educator and research academician, he is triple Board-Certified in Critical Care, Pulmonary Medicine, and Internal Medicine.

Dr. Veley received his medical degree from the Ross University School of Medicine in 2001, completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Connecticut John Dempsey Medical Center in 2004, and his fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care at the Mount Sinai Medical Center, NYC, in 2007.  Along the way, he has collaborated with fellow medical professionals in conducting research on various ground breaking studies in COPD patients that he has published in several peer-reviewed medical journals.  He has also lectured on patient care safety, intra-hospital transport of critically-ill patients, and other important topics in several medical conferences and universities.

Over the years of exemplary medical practice, Dr. Veley has been honored with The Critical Care Instructor of the Year award, and has served as an active member of various professional affiliations, notably the American Stroke Association, American Association of Bronchology, Society of Critical Care Medicine and the American Thoracic Society.  He is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians.  Concurrently, Dr. Veley served as Assistant Professor with the Texas A&M University College of Medicine.

Currently engaged with The Lung Consultants, Dr. Veley has established himself as an expert in managing cases involving patients with lung nodules, interstitial lung disease, sarcoidosis and various pulmonary infections.  He has a broad following who seek his expertise in addressing COPD, asthma, chronic cough, bronchiectasis, occupational lung disease as well as sleep apnea., with a special area of interest in the early detection of lung cancer.  Dr. Veley has advanced training in interventional pulmonology, including bronchoscopy techniques for diagnosing lung cancer, such as Endobronchial Ultrasound Guided biopsy (EBUS) and Navigational Bronchoscopy.

On the side, Dr. Veley enjoys basketball, tennis, biking, and spending quality time with his family, wife and two daughters. He is also a pet lover, caring for his two Dobermans.




Madelyn Rosenthal

Madelyn Rosenthal is a board-certified pulmonologist and sleep medicine physician.

In her sleep clinic, she provides a full spectrum of diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients with sleep-related disorders including sleep apnea, insomnia, restless legs syndrome, narcolepsy and sleep disorders associated with medical or psychiatric conditions. She has a particular interest in sleep heart health and advanced forms of nocturnal ventilation. In her pulmonary clinic she treats a wide spectrum of pulmonary disorders including but not limited to chronic pulmonary obstructive disease, pulmonary hypertension, and asthma. She believes in providing specialized, state-of the art and compassionate care to individuals with lung and sleep problems. Dr. Rosenthal feels very strongly about providing patients an opportunity to participate fully in their own care to achieve the best quality of life possible.

 

Prior to joining The Lung Consultants, Dr. Rosenthal was an assistant professor and practiced pulmonary and sleep medicine at The Ohio State University- Wexner Medical Center. She served as the Director of the Sleep Heart Health Program and Phrenic Nerve Stimulator Program to treat central sleep apnea. Additionally, she was Co-Director of the Pulmonary Rehabilitation department.

 

Dr. Rosenthal completed her sleep medicine fellowship at The Ohio State University and a fellowship in pulmonary disease at McGovern Medical School-The University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. She completed her residency at McGovern Medical School-The University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston and received her medical degree from St. George’s University.
